This painting was a joy to paint. Perhaps remembering the lovely sunny day that I took this photo was behind my inspiration. Taos is a beautiful place and this flute player’s music adds to the experience.
It was all about “Color Play” with this landscape that became a seascape. I wanted to create a “feeling” or “expression using color” to convey the beauty that surrounds us. It was painted without a “visual cue” which is something new for me. It is a painting that evolved from memories of the mountains in North Carolina.
When a friend saw it she felt it looked more like ocean waves…….so it became “Wishing I was Whale Watching”.
This link will take you to a preview of the “Texas & Neighbors Art Show 2014”. It is going to be a wonderful exhibit of fine art and I am honored to be a part of it.
