Watercolor is a challenging medium that I play with from time to time. “Grandma Going Green” is painted from a photo I took in Florida. I am going to paint this again-perhaps in acrylic in a vertical format so that I can include the Palm Trees. When I saw her crossing the street I quickly snapped the photo from the car and was delighted to capture the moment.

“Ringo” is going to the show!
“Ringo” is going to the 2014 Juried Irving Wildlife & Domestic Animal Art Show . Ringo belongs to my friend Gail and I must say I would enjoy meeting the little fellow. Painted in acrylic on canvas, my reference for painting him were photos that Gail sent to me.
Listed below is the link to a preview of the show.

Plein Air Taos Works
The majesty of the mountains and the big skies of New Mexico inspired me as I painted in Taos in August. All are in oil on linen board. Painting #2 has come a long way from my old post on this blog. Some days painting is more work than others. But the process is very rewarding and motivates me to start fresh each day.
